Hey, yawl! My apologies for the late post, I had some issues and everything was fixed by my website host! Yay (they fixed it)! Thank you little Baby Jesus in the manger!
So, I have never done a year long drawing challenge before but it looks fun. I am always up to a challenge when it come to drawing! Check last years two-month drawing challenge. This year I have challenged myself to the Weekly Five Drawing Challenge, which requires one drawing daily and the sharing of drawings weekly.
I found this challenge from a cool artist by the name of Tatyana and Love, Teacup Kisses! After seeing how she creates her lovely illustrations, I alway feel motivated.
The good thing is that if you miss less than five days of drawings you can always catch up within that week without falling behind. You can join me in this challenge too! To participate, you should understand the rules to the challenge. The rules are simple and straightforward. There's no theme to this challenge, all you have to do is commit to the following rules for 52 weeks:
- The goal is to finish 5 drawings a week for 52 weeks and that you can start anytime throughout the year.
- Draw whatever you want and use this challenge to help you learn and grow.
- If you fall behind just continue and don't give up!
- Share your progress with other participants progress by using the hashtag #weeklyfive .
The challenge for me is to find different things to draw because I tend to stay in my comfort zone. In this challenge, you will see me drawing things from plants, people, manga, cartoons and patterns! I will definitely try to think outside of the box when looking for cool things to draw. Plus, you can always check back here at the end of each week to see what I have drawn for the #weeklyfive challenge. Each week (Sundays) I will share with you five drawings that I have created over the week for 52 weeks!!!
The challenges for this week marks the beginning of the challenge for me!
The day I decided to start this challenge, I got a set of Copic markers. While I was at the art store, I went ahead and purchased the appropriate paper for the marker medium, which came in handy.
Get your Copic markers here (free shipping over $25) and super smooth paper here!
The drawing paper that I purchased was magically thin and smooth but it did not bleed! For the longest time I have been wondering how they made this smooth thin paper bleed proof. I still do not know till this day but if you have not tried drawing on this paper I suggest you try it.
