Hello, creatives. In this post, I will share with you 5 ways to slay a drawing challenge. Drawing challenges are a challenge but you can slay a challenge, right?
This past week has been extra sweet because I have not quite this challenge (a reoccurring theme). But I am so proud to have survived to week 4! Whohoo! This week I have discovered a couple of things that will help anyone slay a drawing challenge anytime:
- To do more with less. I usually splurge more than I need to in the art store and this week I stayed far away from it. Just staying away from the art store makes me proud of myself! I am pretty sure Blick is welcoming me with open arms to spend all the money.
- Patience grasshopper. I want but I need to be patient and wait. Sometimes it is just better to think about what you want to buy and do research about products first. So, there aren't any new products to review this week.
- Recycle your old ideas. Last week I reused old ideas and made new ones. Some of the drawings I had started looked great as line art and in full color.
- Self-doubt is your enemy. Remember that self-doubt is creativity's worst enemy! Note to self, doubt less. Overall, this week went great and I changed my perspective on how I see a final product. I realized a minimal look with black and white can look just as great as a full-color drawing. All of this thinking just boils down to second guessing myself. The elimination of second guessing and/or doubting myself ruins the potential of some drawing to be shared and enjoyed by you!
