During this drawing challenge I am focusing on certain topics of interest. As always I consulted Pinterest for so color inspiration and inspiring words. When I searched Pinterest for inspiring words and this came up:
Do more of what makes you happy.
It is very important to be more of a do-er instead of a dweller. What I mean is, it is more important to be more of a do-er of things that make you happy not a dweller of things that could make you happy.
It is almost like saying YOLO and "do what you love". How does this tie into the weekly five drawing challenge?
The things that help me to focus on the things that make me happy are all things related to self-expression, art and creativity. If that sounds like your thought process, you will love the #weeklyfive drawing challenge!
This week I explored the options of doing more of what makes me happy instead of thinking about the things that drain the life out of me. The act of focusing on things that make you happy takes a lot of focus theses days because there is so much to get you off track (of drawing challenge matters).
I have chosen to focus on color, fashion illustration and accessories. Fashion can sometimes be un-complex but it make me happy when life does become extremely complex.
"If you are a creative dwell and focus on your art as part of your time of meditation."
I am learning to meditate daily throughout the week, incorporating art and illustration.
I usually listen to that calming slow jazz type of music because late in the day I need to slow down and relax. It is way too easy for me to get too hyped up at the end of the day when it is time to unwind.
How do you focus on the things that make you happy? How will you be focusing on those things that make you happy? Share with me here!
This week I was lucky enough to be able to share a fun illustration that I did for a client. She will be launching her website and business soon, so be on the lookout for @SomethingsAboutHer .
So yes, I am an avid subscriber to this culture and fashion magazine (essencemagazine.com) and in this month's issue, I had spotted some things I absolutely love. This magazine has inspired me to do a little illustration this week. What I loved about this month's issue were the featured retro chunky heels...
This lovely floral sheer dress...
And this spring leather tote/clutch bag! I wanted to find a knock off version but I can really enjoy the fruits of fashion if it is not real....To create these drawings use this: Markers & Paper
In the drawings: Similar Chunky Heel Sandal#1 | Similar Gold Chunky Heel Sandal#2 | Similar Chunky Heel Sandal#4 | Similar to the purse above
