Don't you get jealous when you see such great art and awesome blog posts on other websites? We all just want to create great things, but we get jealous. It all started when I noticed how more beautifully the musician played, how well the artist captured beauty in their artwork, how well the writer wrote her story and how well the photographer photographed the city.
I have noticed more these days, and I am jealous. This is a natural emotion, I cannot deny. When I see such creativity, I feel like going out and creating a new book, snapping some great pictures and painting a million art pieces too.
Seeing creatives do well is not all sour patches for me. There is joy when I witness creativity, but I am also jealous when I cannot let the artist know that I enjoyed their artwork. I never knew what it was, but it does sound a little confusing.
Just recently I started reading this book that cleared it up for me. I started reading the Creative Block by Danielle Krysa. I immediately connected to the writer when I discovered that she was an artist and the blogger behind the Jealous Curator.
I have only started this book, and I already know this is going to be a good one! She offers great advice to creatives who are stuck and blocked from great ideas.
The quote that made me realize that I needed to continue reading this book is when I read the following quote from Creative Block:
"Jealousy that is kept inside becomes toxic, and it will eat you alive. But if you say it out loud, you can turn it into something post- time: admiration.” -Danielle Krysa
If you are a creative like me, and you want to learn how to get out of a creative rut, then this book will be great for you. I suggest checking the book out here, 30days for free.
If you are an artist, I am rooting for ya! Remember admiration is always your friend.
-Your creative blogger and artist, Laura
